Step-by-Step Online Application

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to eta.gov.lk — this is the only official website for Sri Lanka ETA applications. Avoid third-party sites that charge extra fees. Look for the “Apply” button on the homepage.

Step 2: Accept Terms and Conditions

Read the terms and conditions carefully. You must agree to the no-refund policy and confirm that all information provided is accurate. Click “I Agree” to proceed to the application form.

Step 3: Fill in Personal Details

Enter your personal information exactly as it appears on your passport:

At a Sri Lanka Overseas Mission

You can apply at the nearest Sri Lankan embassy or consulate. This method takes up to 3 business days but allows you to get a visa endorsement stamped in your passport. This is recommended if you prefer having a physical visa stamp.

At the Department of Immigration Head Office
